This special presentation is dedicated to memorialize and give honor to and in the memory of those who lost and gave their lives on September 11th, 2001. This offering of thoughts, quotations, photos and prayers is also a tribute to the families, friends, and loved ones of the victims and all those souls who were involved in the recovery and clean-up efforts at Ground Zero. Here we will share prayers for Peace, Compassion, Wisdom, Healing and Guidance for our nation and the world. As the "World Day of Prayer" is observed on September 11th, participants are asked to set aside some time to pray during this 24-hour vigil, which will be held from sunset on the evening of September 10th to sunset on the evening of September 11th. Join hundreds of thousands of people from many different faiths, cultures, and nations for one single purpose, "To Pray..." Through the power of united prayer, we are raising the spiritual consciousness of humankind while witnessing a divine outpouring of healing love and light.
As our service men and women defend the United States in distant lands and families and Americans continue to heal and adjust their lives from the tragedy of September 11th 2001, there is a movement to honor this day of memorial as an "Annual World Day of Prayer". Americans and world citizens from around the globe will join hands through an interdenominational effort to gather in prayer and reverence this September 11th. Prayers asking for Guidance, Protection, Healing and Blessings for our citizens, our country and the world will be petitioned on this day. I hope you will join us with these prayerful intentions on September 11th.
This year you are invited to join us in turning to God as the source of guidance for all that we need. If you wish to participate, we ask that you take some time during the 24-hour period of 0911 to pray with us as often as you can, wherever you happen to be, alone or with others. Following the "World Day of Prayer", names with prayer requests will be held for 30 days of continuous prayer. (see the "0911 Links" section posted below for more info) A global partnership every year since the first "World Day of Prayer" in 1994, many thousands of people have accepted this divine appointment to pray. Now you can accept it, too, and help carry God's Love and Light to the world..! Prayer works..! With thanksgiving in your heart, let your requests and needs be made known to God. The Prayer dedication is posted below.

A horrible tragedy occured at 8:46 Tuesday Morning September 11, 2001. There were 4 planes hijacked by terrorists. A senseless act of cowardness. American Airlines Flight 11, crashed into the North Tower of the World Trade Center in New York. There were 92 people aboard, including 9 flight attendants and 2 pilots.
At 9:03 a.m., United Airlines Flight 175 crashed into the South Tower, carrying 65 people, including 7 flight attendants and 2 pilots.
At 9:38 a.m., American Airlines Flight 77 crashed into the Pentagon in Arlington, Va. There were 64 people aboard, including 4 flight attendants and 2 pilots.
At 10:10 a.m., United Airlines Flight 93 crashed Southeast of Pittsburgh carrying 45 people, including 5 flight attendants and 2 pilots. It is believed that flight 93 was headed for the White House when some of the passengers rushed the terrorists, causing them to miss their intended target and crash into a field in Pittsburgh. We honor those aboard flight 93 for such a courageous act of selflessness and bravery for saving the many lives that would have been destroyed at the White House.
May God Bless the heroes who have lost their lives
in helping save the lives of others...

Moments of silence were observed at 8:46 and 9:03 a.m., the times two planes slammed into the trade center towers on Sept. 11, 2001, and at 9:59 and 10:29, when the two towers collapsed. With quavering voices, parents and grandparents of those killed at the World Trade Center read the names of the victims in a solemn reciation early Saturday to mark the anniversary of the terror attacks.
Bells tolled throughout New York City as mourners fell silent to observe the moment a hijacked plane hit the World Trade Center. President Obama placed a wreath under rainy skies at the Pentagon in memory of those who died there and hundreds were expected in Shanksville, Pa., at the field where a plane crashed killing 40 passengers and crew.
In Washington, President Obama, first lady Michelle Obama and members of the White House staff stood silently on the south driveway of the White House. A bell tolled three times as the Obamas stood with their heads bowed. They then put their hands on their hearts as a military trumpeter playedas a military trumpeter played Taps. The one-minute ceremony took place at 8:46 a.m., the moment at which the first plane struck a tower at the World Trade Center.
President Obama spoke at the Pentagon during a wreath-laying ceremony, saying, "Once more we pause, once more we pray as a nation." Vice President Joe Biden, meanwhile, attended the memorial service at Ground Zero in New York City. Thousands were expected at now-familiar ceremonies in New York, at the Pentagon and at the crash site of United Airlines Flight 93 in Shanksville, Pennsylvania. The attacks killed 40 people in Pennsylvania, 184 at the Pentagon and 2,752 in New York.
President Obama urged the nation today to renew its resolve against the terrorists who planned "the barbaric act" of eight years ago and who "plot against us still." "In defense of our nation, we will never waver..."
May God Bless Us... Each and Every One...

While the shocking unfolding events of Sept. 11, 2001
stunned the media and the world,
thin crisp pure clouds of a morning sky
embraced intense fire and smoke of hate.
And within the unseen world...
Angelic hosts ran to and fro
helping thousands of confused souls
merge towards a place called heaven,
aided by selfless Fire Fighter,
Police and EMS workers,
with wings of gold.
Whist a survivor,
stunned and dazed
looks away
as if in a haze.
But then by grace
there came a break,
America! America!
God Shed His Light On Thee..!
She turned,
and in an instant
the tears dried from her eyes
and thought...
Perhaps some how and somewhere
beyond the vision of darkness
the unlearned ignorant will understand
that life is more precious than death,
and that love is more powerful than hate.

Somewhere there's a place I know,
where love and death are entertwined.
I'll remember that you were mine,
When'er I find that place to go.
But it may be a long, long while,
And maybe you won't remember me.
But even long those years may be,
I love the way you made me smile.
Remembering the fun we've had,
The times we shared and places gone.
Even now I see your face upon the lawn,
Where we once traded rings,
Oh sad That I may be,
I would not have given Up those moments once so true.
I treasure in my secret spot, the you.
I had and still have in my heart,
Driven By moments that ne'er will be faced,
By others who didn't know you,
Or those who couldn't show you,
Shall never, ever be replaced.
So in my secret spot you stay,
And I will keep you in my heart.
For deep within we'll never part,
Not just for now but every day.

"THE WALL" by H.D. Hughes

They walk along the granite block, past names all etched in stone.
Among so many others here, but feel so all alone...
So many here to touch a soul, that passed so long ago.
And tears now streak from off your cheek, emotions, have to show...
There are so many people here, who wish the pain to end.
Why not reach out a hand to them, to listen, be a friend...
The Wall can bridge the largest gap, it made our nation one.
We thank the nurses one and all, and every soldier, son...
Whose names we see forever etched, upon the granite stone.
Though painful make us realize, that we are not alone...
The sacrifice, that you all made, that bring us to this shrine.
Bring all those closer, left behind, perhaps the grand design...
To help the friends and family, to understand the call.
That took your names from off lifes list, and place it on this Wall...
You fought a war, unpopular, in Nam so far away.
And now you've found the greatest peace, as we stand here and pray...
Beyond the Wall we hope to find, the reason for it all.
Why you with pride went far away, to answer duty's call...
Perhaps the flag that others burn, became your symbol proud.
Why you gave life, proclaim your love, of country, very loud...
So rest in peace, my Warrior, my nurse and doctor too.
And rest assured forever more, we'll all remember you...
The Wall means much to everyone, these names on granite cast.
To keep your memories alive, as long as time will last...
So look upon the granite face, and touch the names with pride.
For all their spirits linger there, beyond the Wall, inside...
This verse was placed in "The National Archives" on September 30, 1993

When America had an urgent need,
These brave ones raised a hand;
No hesitation held them back;
They were proud to take a stand.
They left their friends and family;
They gave up normal life;
To serve their country and their God,
They plowed into the strife.
They fought for freedom and for peace
On strange and foreign shores;
Some lost new friends; some lost their lives
In long and brutal wars.
Other veterans answered a call
To support the ones who fought;
Their country had requirements for
The essential skills they brought.
We salute each and every one of them,
The noble and the brave,
The ones still with us here today,
And those who rest in a grave.
So heres to our countrys heroes;
Theyre a cut above the rest;
Lets give the honor that is due
To our countrys very best.

"THE STAR SPANGELED BANNER"
Our National Anthem by Francis Scott Key

0911 memorial tribute day sayings, pictures & poems navigation directory
( 1st Verse )
O say, can you see, by the dawn's early light,
What so proudly we hailed, at the twilight's last gleaming.
Whose broad stripes and bright stars,
through the perilous fight,
O'er the ramparts we watched,
were so gallantly streaming..!
And the rockets' red glare,
the bombs bursting in air,
Gave proof through the night,
that our flag was still there. O say, does that star-spangled banner yet wave.
O'er the land of the free,
and the home of the brave...
( 2nd Verse )
On the shore dimly seen,
through the mists of the deep,
Where the foe's haughty host,
in dread silence reposes.
What is that which the breeze,
o'er the towering steep,
As it fitfully blows,
now conceals, now discloses...
Now it catches the gleam,
of the morning's first beam,
In full glory reflected,
now shines on the stream.
'Tis the star-spangled banner,
O long may it wave.
O'er the land of the free,
and the home of the brave..!
( 3rd Verse )
And where is that band,
who so vauntingly swore,
That the havoc of war,
and the battle's confusion.
A home and a country,
should leave us no more.
Their blood has washed out,
their foul footsteps' pollution.
No refuge could save,
the hireling and slave.
From the terror of flight,
or the gloom of the grave.
And the star-spangled banner in triumph doth wave.
O'er the land of the free, and the home of the brave..!

Let there be peace on earth,
and let it begin with me.
Let there be peace on earth,
the peace that was meant to be.
With God as our father,
brothers all are we,
Let me walk with my brother,
in perfect harmony.
Let peace begin with me.
Let this be the moment now,
With every step I take,
let this be my solemn vow,
To take each moment,
and live each moment,
in peace, eternally.
Let there be peace on Earth,
and let it begin with me.

( 1st Verse )
O beautiful for spacious skies,
For amber waves of grain,
For purple mountain majesties,
Above the fruited plain..!
America! America!
God shed his grace on thee,
And crown thy good,
with brotherhood,
From sea to shining sea..!
( 2nd Verse )
O beautiful for pilgrim feet,
Whose stern impassioned stress.
A thoroughfare of freedom beat,
Across the wilderness.
America! America!
God mend thine every flaw.
Confirm thy soul,
in self-control,
Thy liberty in law..!
( 3rd Verse )
O beautiful for heroes proved,
In liberating strife.
Who more than self,
their country loved,
And mercy more than life..!
America! America!
May God thy gold refine,
Till all success be nobleness,
And every gain divine..!
( 4th Verse )
O beautiful for patriot dream,
That sees beyond the years.
Thine alabaster cities gleam,
Undimmed by human tears..!
America! America!
God shed his grace on thee.
And crown thy good,
with brotherhood,
From sea to shining sea..!
( 5th Verse )
O beautiful for halcyon skies,
For amber waves of grain.
For purple mountain majesties,
Above the enameled plain..!
America! America!
God shed his grace on thee.
Till souls wax fair,
as earth and air,
And music-hearted sea..!
( 6th Verse )
O beautiful for pilgrims feet,
Whose stem impassioned stress.
A thoroughfare for freedom beat,
Across the wilderness.
America! America!
God shed his grace on thee.
Till paths be wrought,
through wilds of thought,
By pilgrim foot and knee..!
( 17th Verse )
O beautiful for glory-tale,
Of liberating strife.
When once and twice,
for man's avail,
Men lavished precious life..!
America! America!
God shed his grace on thee.
Till selfish gain,
no longer stain,
The banner of the free..!
( 8th Verse )
O beautiful for patriot dream,
That sees beyond the years.
Thine alabaster cities gleam,
Undimmed by human tears..!
America! America!
God shed his grace on thee.
Till nobler men,
keep once again,
Thy whiter jubilee..!

God Bless America,
Land that I love.
Stand beside her,
and guide her,
Thru the night with a light from above.
From the mountains,
to the prairies,
To the oceans,
white with foam.
God bless America,
My home sweet home.
( 2nd Verse )
While the storm clouds gather,
far across the sea.
Let us swear allegiance,
to a land that's free.
Let us all be grateful,
for a land so fair,
As we raise our voices,
in a solemn prayer. To the oceans,
white with foam.
God bless America,
My home sweet home.

( 1st Verse )
My country tis of thee,
Sweet land of liberty,
Of thee I sing.
Land where my fathers died.
Land of the Pilgrim's pride.
From every mountain side.
Let freedom ring..!
My native country, thee,
Land of the noble free,
Thy name I love.
I love thy rocks and rills,
Thy woods and templed hills,
My heart with rapture fills,
Like that above...
( 2nd Verse )
Let music swell the breeze,
And ring from all the trees,
Sweet freedom's song.
Let mortal tongues awake,
Let all that breathe partake,
Let rocks their silence break,
The sound prolong.
Our father's God to, Thee,
Author of liberty,
To Thee we sing.
Long may our land be bright,
With freedom's holy light,
Protect us by Thy might,
Great God, our King..!

Eternal God, Creator of years, of centuries...
Lord of whatever is beyond time. Maker of all species and master of all history. How shall we speak to you from our smallness and inconsequence. Except that you have called us to worship you in spirit and in truth. You have dignified us with loves and loyalties. You have lifted us up with your loving kindnesses. Therefore we are bold to come before you without groveling, though we sometimes feel that low, and without fear, though we may often be anxious. We sing with spirit and pray with courage because you have dignified us. You have redeemed us from the aimlessness of things going meaninglessly well.
God, lift the hearts of those for whom this holiday is not just diversion, but painful memory and continued deprivation. Bless those whose dear ones have died needlessly, wastefully, as it seems, in accident or misadventure. We remember with compassion those who have died serving their countries in the futility of combat. There is none of us but must come to bereavement and separation, when all the answers we are offered fail the question death asks of each of us. We believe that you will provide for us as others have been provided with the fulfillment of
