"KA' ANOI" featuring Israel Kamakawiwoole. Israel's earliest days of performing began at high schools and night clubs where his already notable talent led to the creation of the group;
"Makaha Sons of Niihau". Israel's already recognizably smooth vocals are brought to fruition in the
Hawaiian Music album "Ka'Anoi". As "Ka'Anoi" is this reknown artist's first musical offering, IZ manages to create a tapestry of contemporary, country western, reggae, and beautiful Hawaiian ballads all on one album. His now famous rendition of the song "Somewhere Over The Rainbow" made it's genesis on this Hawaiian CD. A few albums later on his release; "Facing Future", it would culminate into it's current popular arrangement that can be heard in movies and in Television commercials. This album is a must have in the now popular collection of all six treasured Israel Kamakawiwo'ole CD albums.
Israel Kamakawiwo'ole, the Hawaiian singer is better known simply as "IZ". It was his solo career which brought his music featured in televison and films into national noteriety. Those who mourned his passing in 1997 and countless others who know little about the Hawaiian native will be inspired by the depth of range on the "Ka'Anoi" Hawaiian CD album. Izzy's vocal renderings are accompanied by his now famous solo ukelele performances including the beautiful rendition of many Hawaiian Music favorities. Relax and celebrate with the sweet sounds of the
"Ka'Anoi" Hawaiian Music CD album.
"Israel Kamakawiwoole" was Born in Honolulu Hawaii in 1959 and spent the first five years of his life with his Grandfather, ("Tutu Kane" in Hawaiian) on the
Hawaiian island of Niihau. In 1964 he returned to the
island of Oahu to live with his immediate family and learned the importance of his
Hawaiian lanhuage and heritage. IZ was a native Hawaiian, who upon his death in 1997, at the age of 38, was only the second citizen to receive the honor of having his body lay in state at the capitol building in
Honolulu Hawaii.
Israel IZ Kamakawiwoole is remembered fondly in Hawaii and throughout his worldwide fan base as much more than just a
singer, song writer and composer. IZ sings original
Contemporary Hawaiian Music in the
native Hawaiian tongue and performs his beautiful
ukulele song using his solo
tenor ukulele to accompany the gentle purity of his golden smooth and passionate voice which covers an extraordinary range of vocal octaves.
