The Power of Prayer
The "Power of Prayer" is directly related to the intention and the purity of the heart. As we forgive others, God forgives us. This is the ever present consistent measurement of Divine Law. Forgiveness is one of the most important qualities of Love and quite often one of the most challenging to give graciously. Anger or resentment toward people, places, things or God underminds healing and the power of prayer. A conscious choice in life's experiences must always be made and the question it asks is: "Do I want to be Bitter or Better..?" Prayer under any circumstances and at any time always makes life Better.

How to Pray each Day
Prayer has been more recently defined as the time one takes talking to God whereas Meditation has been described as time taken listening to God. I like to incorporate both these pricipals to create a "Prayer-Meditation Combination". Then there is time to talk to God, listen to God, and most importantly, time to become aware of the presence of God in you're Life.
Review some of the many prayers posted on this "Prayer Healing Website". You might accompany your Prayer time with some gentle sacred or relaxing music to enhance your Prayer atmosphere. Be aware of you're Breathing and simply notice how you're feeling. Prayer can include direct mindfull intentions for Peace, Joy, Resolution and of course Love... If you can begin to feel such things during you're Prayertime then you are beginning to feel the presence of God and a natural desire to expand this experience will ensue.
Here are a few things to keep in mind and heart as you say the prayers posted on our "Global Prayer Healing Circle" website :
Surrender your problem whole heartedly to God.
Remain Open and Humble with each and every breath you take.
Forgive all who have purposely or unintentionally hurt you.
Believe... You can be healed. Have faith. Release doubt.
Give Thanks to God for every good thing no matter how small.
Quiet the mind and Open the heart as you Pray.

Scheduling Prayer Time
Scheduling time for Prayer is no different than scheduling any other activity with the exception that Prayer may have a profound effect on how the rest of you're scheduled appointments work out. That's another way of saying "Prayer makes a difference" and can influence your thoughts, words and actions each and every day. If you have a Schedule or Appointment Book why not write in an appointment for Prayer. Your allocated "Time for Prayer" can be anywhere from 5 to 30 minutes or longer in length and you can start to think of this time as your appointment with God or your Higher Power. If you can get up 15-20 minutes earlier in the morning, the quiet time before the day's activity is one of the best times for Prayer. If this is not possible then as little as 5 minutes during a daily break or lunch period at work can work. If these options aren't applicable then evening Prayer before you go to sleep is another of my favorite times for Prayer. I reflect upon the day and pray for deeper understanding and guidance to make the next day even better and brighter. I actually prefer the early Morning and Evening Prayer Time combination. Start simple and stay focused and you're Prayer Time will expand naturally.
You're "Prayer Time" can be "Simple Quiet Time" where you just "Sit Still" and "Breathe" or it can be a time for asking questions and staying silently receptive to answers and guidance. If you're not quite sure how to start this special appointment you can certainly choose from any one of the many Prayers on this page, print it out and simply read it aloud or silently during your "Prayer Time Appointment" each day.

Global Day of Prayer
On 15 May 2005 millions of Christians from 156 nations in the world united in the first ever Global Day of Prayer. Christians gathered in different venues, seeking God's face in repentance and prayer for the transformation of their communities and nations.
Driven by Hab. 2:14 "For the earth will be filled with the knowledge of the glory of the Lord, as the waters cover the sea", the dream is to mobilize Christians from every single nation in the world to participate in the Global Day of Prayer over the next few years until the year 2010. However, the focus is not only on a single day of prayer, but to see a lifestyle of prayer established that will transform communities. This move of prayer is still miraculously expanding. In 2006 millions of Christians from 199 nations united in prayer and in 2007 even more Christian from 204 nations participated.
On Pentecost Sunday, (usually the 2nd Sunday in May), the nations of the world will once again unite in the Global Day of Prayer. Use the following link to view the documents and downloads to assist you.

The Lord's Prayer
The Lord's Prayer is considered to be the model of all prayer that Jesus taught us during his "Sermon on the Mount". It is recorded in the gospels of Matthew and Luke and is presented here in it's traditional language translation.
Our Father, who art in heaven,
hallowed be thy name.
Thy Kingdom come,
thy will be done,
on earth as it is in heaven.
Give us this day our daily bread.
And forgive us our trespasses,
as we forgive those who trespass against us.
And lead us not into temptation,
but deliver us from evil.
For thine is the kingdom,
the power and the glory.
For ever and ever... Amen

Prayer of Jabez
During an uneventful time in Israel's history, a faithful man named Jabez prayed a simple, straightforward prayer and gained the favor and blessings of God. The prayer is composed of four parts. First, Jabez asks God to bless him. Second, he asks God to enlarge his territory or increase his responsibility. Third, he prays that God will be with him and stay close. Lastly, Jabez asks that God keep him from harm so that he will be free from pain.
This simple prayer has inspired millions of seekers to memorize and repeat this same prayer daily. After three thousand years of relative obscurity, Jabez has once again been discovered by the world.
And Jabez called on the God of Israel, saying,
"Oh that Thou would bless me indeed, and enlarge my coast (land), and that Thine hand might be with me, and that Thou would keep me from evil, that it may not grieve me..!"
And God granted him that which he requested.

Boondock Saints Prayer
The Boondock Saints is a 1999 action drama film depicting fraternal twins who become vigilantes after killing two members of the Russian mob in self-defense. After a message from God, the brothers, together with their friend, set out to rid their home city of Boston of evil, all the while being pursued by an FBI agent.
During the course of the film the brothers infiltrate a notorious crime family, but are captured in the process and recite their family prayer known as the Boondock Saints Prayer.
And shepherds we shall be,
For Thee, my Lord, for Thee.
Power hath descended forth from Thy hand,
That our feet may swiftly carry out Thy command.
So we shall flow a river forth to Thee
And teeming with souls shall it ever be.
In Nomine Patris, et Filii, et Spiritūs Sancti.

Mathematical Prayer
In a world predicated on logic and mathematics, prayer has mostly been held off until a situation becomes so untenable that one needs divine intervention to stave off impending desaster. To both the logical and numerically oriented the following "Mathematical Prayer" is offered.
Dear Mother Mary,
Through your rosary,
May we add joys to our hearts,
Subtract evil from our lives,
Multiply good works through your son,
And divide your gifts and share them with others.
Amen.

Prayer of the Refugee ( lyrics )
The Prayer Of The Refugee lyrics by the music group "Rise Against" is copyrighted and eLyrics.net is featuring all rise against music lyrics for non-commercial use only.
Warm yourself by the fire, son,
And the morning will come soon.
I'll tell you stories of a better time,
In a place that we once knew.
Before we packed our bags
And left all this behind us in the dust,
We had a place that we could call home,
And a life no one could touch.
Don't hold me up now,
I can stand my own ground,
I don't need your help now,
You won't let me down, down, down!
Don't hold me up now,
I can stand my own ground,
I don't need your help now,
You will let me down, down, down!
We are the angry and the desperate,
The hungry, and the cold,
We are the ones who kept quiet,
And always did what we were told.
But we've been sweating while you slept so calm,
In the safety of your home.
We've been pulling out the nails that hold up
Everything you've known.
Don't hold me up now,
I can stand my own ground,
I don't need your help now,
You will let me down, down, down!
Don't hold me up now,
I can stand my own ground,
I don't need your help now,
You will let me down, down, down!
So open your eyes child,
Let's be on our way.
Broken windows and ashes
Are guiding the way.
Keep quiet no longer,
We'll sing through the day,
Of the lives that we've lost,
And the lives we've reclaimed. Go!
Don't hold me up now,
I can stand my own ground,
I don't need your help now,
You will let me down, down, down!
Don't hold me up now,
I can stand my own ground,
I don't need your help now,
You will let me down, down, down!
Don't hold me up...
(I don't need your help, I'll stand my ground)
Don't hold me up...
(I don't need your help)
No! No! No!
Don't hold me up!
(I don't need your help, I'll stand my ground)
Don't hold me up!
(I don't need your help, I'll stand my ground)
Don't hold me down, down, down, down, down!

Prayer for Memorial Day
As we turn our thoughts toward Memorial Day weekend, we remember those who have made the ultimate sacrifice for our cherished freedoms. We sincerely pray for the men and women who have and currently serve the cause of righteousness and freedom all over the world.
Dear Heavenly Father,
As we remember those who have made the ultimate sacrifice for our freedom, we think of how they have followed in the footsteps of your son, our Savior, Jesus Christ.
Please hold our service men and women in your strong arms. Cover them with your sheltering grace and presence as they stand in the gap for our protection.
We also remember the families of our troops, and ask for your unique blessings to fill their homes and your peace, provision and strength to fill their lives.
May the members of our armed forces be filled with courage to face each day and may they trust in the Lord's mighty power to accomplish each task. Let our military brothers and sisters feel our love and support.
In the name of Jesus. Amen

Hawaiian Healing Unity Prayer
"The truth is, there is man and there is environment. One does not supercede the other. The breath in man is the breath of Papa. Man is merely the caretaker of the land that maintains his life and nourishes his soul. Therefore, the 'aina is sacred. The church of life is not in a building, it is the open sky, the surrounding ocean, the beautiful soil..."
George Helm, January 1977
The light of God surrounds us
Ka mâlamalama o ke Akua e ho`opuni mai iâ kâkou
The love of God enfolds us
Ke aloha o ke Akua e kîpuni mai iâ kâkou
The power of God protects us
Ka mana o ke Akua e ho`opakele mai iâ kâkou
The presence of God watches over us

Hawaiian Wedding Prayer
If you attended a traditional Hwaiian Wedding ceremony you in all liklihood would experience the following:
While guests arrive they hear the sounds of the sea and the gentle strumming of ukuleles, or Hawaiian sacred chanting in the background. Music is usually performed 20 minutes prior to the wedding ceremony while all guests are seated in attendance.
The Groom would enter first, as the Minister or Priest( sometimes called "Kahu" ) walks with the groom to the front of the wedding ceremony area as a Mele ( Hawaiian Chant ) is sung as the Minister introduces the groom to all in attendance as the man who is getting married.
In Hawaii the Mothers of the Bride and Groom are specially honored in the Wedding ceremony and are usually escorted by a close member of their respective families. Once the Mothers are seated, the wedding processional begins. Bridesmaids enter at this point walking alone or with a selected Grooms family member in attendance.
The Bridesmaid is the last to enter the Wedding ceremony and stands closest to the Bride. When the bridal party is in position the ringbearer or flower girl may announce the entrance of the Bride accompanied by the sounding of the Hawaiian conch shell which is usually blown by the Minister.
The Hawaiian conch shell is used in weddings to call forth the Land, Air, Earth and Fire to be witness of the impending union. As the Bride makes her entrance, the Groom turns towards her and the Ceremony begins in earnest.
Hawaiian Wedding Prayer 01
Lord, let us never forget our first sweet feelings of love for each other.
Grant us a love that grows stronger with each passing year.
Guide us to overcome every challenge together
and keep our hearts pure to each other always. Amen
Hawaiian Wedding Prayer 02
Lord, be the cord that binds our marriage,
for a strand of three cords is not easily broken.
Show us the way to keep our mutual respect brightly polished.
May faith brighten our home, forgiveness adorn our hearts and words of kindness be our language.
Help us entwine our friendship with the hopes and dreams
we brought to our wedding.
We commit our marriage to you, Lord. Amen

Hawaiian Funeral Prayer
In general the Hawaiians believe in afterlife and that the Ancients or their Relatives can watch over them. This is Hawaiians believe it is most important to respect the graves and the iwi or bones of the dead. These bones when found in ancinet burial sites cannot just be moved, but must have a special ceremony before they are moved and relocated.
Contemporary Hawaiians believe in God due primarily to the influence of the missionaries but many still believe in their own Gods such as Pele, the Goddess of Fire or Lava. In these beliefs they continuously try to keep the Gods happy by performing good deeds, such as Hula, Chanting and Prayer.
Funerals can take place at dusk or dawn. The Hawaiians ancient Temples are called "Heiau" where they bring ti leaves, fruits and vegetables to keep the Gods happy. Most Hawaiians believe in water burials, where the ashes or the body is given back to nature, or to the ocean. The joining of hands may be done on the beach and participants will often arrange themselves in a circle around the ashes before they are released back to the Sea. A Flower Lei may also be thrown into the water as words or Prayer is shared.
As for the ceremony itself, people dress in full floral Aloha attire. Usually little or no black attire is seen. Before the ceremony people are usually silent until after the ceremony when participants get together with food and everyone talks about the deceased, or as Hawaiians say "talk story" and share memories.
May the Earth continue to live
May the heavens above continue to live
May the rains continue to dampen the land
May the wet forests continue to grow
then the flowers shall bloom
and we humans shall live again.

Mother's Day Prayers
Some people see Mother's Day as a highly commercialized secular holiday, designed by greeting card manufacturers, promoted by restaurants, and cherished by florists and giftshops. Of course any holiday can be commercialized and most are but that doesn't change my perception of the meaning of Mother's Day or the Reason for the Season for any of the other many holidays and holydays I celebrate during the year, every year. My Mother just happens to be a source of my personal inspiration that has taught me the meaning of Love and devotion and kept the fire of desire and the will to be a better person and live a better life alive and well within the core and center of my Being. God Bless you my beloved Mamma^ Love, Michael
Mother's Day Prayer 01
Heavenly Creator, we pray,
for new Mothers, coming to terms with their new responsibilities
for expectant Mothers, wondering and waiting
for those who are tired, stressed or depressed
for those who struggle to balance the tasks of work and family
for those who are unable to feed their children due to poverty
for those whose children have physical, mental or emotional disabilities.
For those who have children they do not want
for those who raise children on their own
for those who have lost a child
for those who care for the children of others
for those whose children have left home
and for those whose desire to be a Mother has not been fulfilled.
Bless all Mothers, that their love may be deep and tender,
and that they may lead their children to know and do what is good,
living not for themselves alone,
but for God and for others. Amen
Mother's Day Prayer 02
Loving God,
we thank you for the love of the mothers you have given us,
whose love is so precious that it can never be measured,
whose patience seems to have no end.
May we see your loving hand behind them and guiding them.
We pray for those mothers who fear they will run out of love
or time, or patience.
We ask you to bless them with your own special love.
We ask this in the name of Jesus, our brother. Amen
Mother's Day Prayer 03
Gracious God,
We thank you for adopting us into your family through the miracle of
your grace, and for calling us to be brothers and sisters to each other.
Today, loving God, we pray for our mothers:
who cared for us when we were helpless
who comforted us when we were hurt
whose love and care we often took for granted.
Today we pray for:
those who are grieving the loss of their mother,
those who never knew their biological mother, and now yearn for her
those who have experienced the wonder of an adopted mother's love
the families separated by war or conflict.
Lord, give them special blessings.
Keep us united with you and with each other,
so that we can be and become all that we are meant to be. Amen

St Michael ArchAngel Prayer
On Sunday April 24th 1994, Pope John Paul II recommended this prayer be used by all Catholics as a prayer for the Church when he said:
"May prayer strengthen us for the spiritual battle we are told about in the Letter to the Ephesians: 'Draw strength from the Lord and from His mighty power.' (Ephesians 6:10).
The Book of Revelation (Revelation 12:7) refers to this same battle, recalling before our eyes the image of St. Michael the Archangel's battle against forces of darkness and against the spirit of this world.
St Michael the Archangel,
defend us in battle.
Be our defense against
the wickedness and snares of the Devil.
May God rebuke him, we humbly pray,
and do thou,
O Prince of the heavenly hosts,
by the power of God,
thrust into hell Satan,
and all the evil spirits,
who prowl about the world,
seeking the ruin of souls... Amen

Prayer of the Children
The "Prayer of the Children" is a song, with words and music by Kurt Bestor, and arrangement by Andrea S. Klouse. In Bestor's original performance on his "Innovators album", he sings all the four-part harmonies simultaneously by passing his voice through a vocoder instrument. To result creates a somewhat surrealistic effect as the song is performed a'capella.
Kurt Bestor served as a missionary for The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints in Serbia during the 1970's. This song was written years later when the Yugoslav war broke out in the early 1990's as a tribute to his country's children.
Can you hear the prayer of the children,
on bended knee, in the shadow of an unknown room..?
Empty eyes with no more tears to cry
turning heavenward toward the light.
Cryin' Jesus help me
to see the mornin' light of one more day,
but if I should die before I wake,
I pray my soul to take.
Can you feel the hearts of the children
aching for home, for something of their very own.
Reaching hands with nothing to hold onto
but hope for a better day, a better day.
Cryin' Jesus help me
to feel the love again in my own land,
but if unknown roads lead away from home,
give me loving arms, 'way from harm.
Can you hear the voice of the children
softly pleading for silence in their shattered world..?
Angry guns preach a gospel full of hate,
blood of the innocent on their hands.
Cryin' Jesus help me
to feel the sun again upon my face..?
For when darkness clears, I know you're near,
bringing peace again.
Can you hear the prayer of the children..?

The Apostles Creed
"The Apostles Creed", is an early statement of Christian belief for both liturgical and catechetical purposes. It is widely used by many Christian denominations including the Roman Catholic Church, the Lutheran Church, the Anglican Church, Presbyterian Church, Methodists, Congregationalists, Western Orthodoxy and many Baptists.
I believe in God, the Father almighty,
creator of heaven and earth.
I believe in Jesus Christ, his only Son, our Lord,
who was conceived by the Holy Spirit,
born of the Virgin Mary,
suffered under Pontius Pilate,
was crucified, died, and was buried;
he descended to the dead.
On the third day he rose again;
he ascended into heaven,
he is seated at the right hand of the Father,
and he will come to judge the living and the dead.
I believe in the Holy Spirit,
the holy catholic Church,
the communion of Saints,
the forgiveness of sins,
the resurrection of the body,
and the life everlasting. Amen

Mealtime Prayers
It has always been a comfort for me to pray at various times during the day in my life. I'm sure my childhood prayers have had a huge influence on this practice especially when my own family would gather for evening meals and we would say a Mealtime Prayer all together. Being raised Catholic I posted this familiar prayer below along with a few others so you can choose you're own.
Mealtime Prayer 01
Bless us, O Lord, for these Thy gifts,
which we are about to receive from Thy bounty.
Through Christ our Lord we pray. Amen
Mealtime Prayer 02
Thank you for the world so sweet
Thank you for the food we eat
Thank you for the birds that sing
Thank you God for everything... Amen
Mealtime Prayer 03
Thank you, Lord, for this food which is set before us.
May we use it to nourish our bodies,
and thee to nourish our souls.
Make us ever more mindful
of the needs of others,
and the needs of our planet.
Through Christ Our Lord, Amen

Childrens Bedtime Prayer
I'm offering two seperate renditions of this popular Childrens Bedtime Prayer since some folks find the "If I should die before I wake..." line a bit to ominous to share with children. Something about not wanting their kids to think about dying just before bedtime.
Childrens Bedtime Prayer rendition 01
Now I lay me down to sleep,
I pray the Lord my soul to keep.
If I should die before I wake,
I pray the Lord my soul to take... Amen
Childrens Bedtime Prayer rendition 02
Now I lay me down to sleep,
I pray the Lord my soul to keep.
See me safely through the night,
And wake me with the morning light... Amen
