I see the countless Christmas Trees
Around the world below
With tiny lights
Like heaven's stars
Reflecting on the snow
The sight is so spectacular...

Please wipe away that tear
For I am spending Christmas
In Heaven this year...

I hear the many Christmas songs
That people hold so dear
But the sounds of music can't compare
With the Christmas choir up here...
So be happy for me loved ones
You know I hold you dear
And be glad I'm spending Christmas
In Heaven this year...

I have no words to tell you
The joy their voices bring
For it is beyond description
To hear the angels sing...
I know how much you miss me
I see the pain inside your heart
But I am not so far away
We really aren't even now apart...

I send you each a special gift
From my heavenly home above
I send you each a memory of
My always undying love...
More precious than pure gold
It was always most important
In the stories Jesus told...

So please love and keep each other
As my Father said to do
For I can't count the blessings
Or love he has just for you...
So have a Merry Christmas
And wipe away that tear
Remember I am spending Christmas
In Heaven this year...

This poem was written by a 13 year old boy who died of a brain tumor that he had battled for four years... He died on December 14, 1997. He gave this little poem to his Mother before he died.
His name was Ben...

When you feel unlovable, unworthy or unclean, and you think that no one can heal you, Remember, Friend, God Can...

When you think that you are unforgivable for your guilt and your shame Remember, Friend, God Can...

When you think that all is hidden and no one can see within, Remember, Friend, God Can...

And, when you have reached the bottom and you think that no one can hear, Remember my dear Friend, God Can...

And when you think that no one can love the real person deep inside of you - Remember my dear Friend, God Does..!
With God, all things are possible..!

Christmas Stories

"On the First Day of Christmas"

On the First Day of Christmas is one Christmas carol that has baffled me. What do leaping lords, French hens, swimming swans, and my true love giving a partridge in a pear tree have to do with Christmas..? Well today, I found out...
From 1558 until 1829, Roman Catholics in England were not permitted to practice their faith openly. Someone during that era wrote this carol as a catechism song for young Catholic children. The song has two levels of meaning: the surface meaning, plus a hidden meaning known only to members of their church. Each element in the carol has a code word for a religious reality which the children could remember.

A partridge in a pear tree was Jesus Christ... Two turtle doves were the Old and New Testaments... Three French hens stood for Faith, Hope and Love... The four calling birds were the four gospels of Matthew, Mark, Luke and John... The five golden rings recalled the Torah or Law, the first five books of the Old Testament... The six geese a-laying stood for the six days of creation... Seven swans a-swimming represented the sevenfold gifts of the Holy Spirit:
Prophesy, Serving, Teaching, Exhortation, Contribution, Leadership, and Mercy...

The eight maids a-milking were the eight beatitudes... Nine ladies dancing were the nine fruits of the Holy Spirit:
Love, Joy, Peace, Patience, Kindness, Goodness, Faithfulness, Gentleness, and Self Control...

The ten lords a-leaping were the Ten Commandments... The eleven pipers piping stood for the eleven faithful disciples... The twelve drummers drumming symbolized the twelve points of belief in the APOSTLES' CREED:
"I believe in God, the Father Almighty, Creator of heaven and earth. I believe in Jesus Christ, God's only Son, our Lord, who was conceived by the Holy Spirit, born of the Virgin Mary, suffered under Pontius Pilate, was crucified, died, and was buried; he descended to the dead. On the third day he rose again; he ascended into heaven, he is seated at the right hand of the Father, and he will come again to judge the living and the dead. I believe in the Holy Spirit, the holy catholic church, the communion of saints, the forgiveness of sins, the resurrection of the body, and the life everlasting. Amen..."

So this is my history for today. This interesting and enlightening knowledge was shared by a dear friend. You also now know how that strange song became a Christmas Carol. May you have a partridge in your pear tree this Christmas and every good blessing in the coming New Year...

"A Child's Letter to Santa Clause"

Snowflakes softly falling, upon your window they play Your blankets snug around you, into sleep you drift away. I bend to gently kiss you, when I see that on the floor there's a letter, neatly written, I wonder who it's for. I quietly unfold it making sure you're still asleep, It's a Christmas list for Santa one my heart will always keep...

It started just as always with the toys seen on TV, A new watch for your father and a winter coat for me. But as my eyes read on I could see that deep inside There were many things you wished for that your loving heart would hide. You asked if your friend Molly could have another Dad. It seems her father hits her and it makes you very sad. Then you asked dear Santa if the neighbors down the street could find a job, that they might have some food, and clothes, and heat. You saw a family on the news whose house had blown away, "Dear Santa, send them just one thing, a place where they can stay..."

"And Santa, those four cookies that I left you for a treat, Could you take them to the children who have nothing else to eat..? Do you know that little bear I have, the one I love so dear..? I'm leaving it for you to take to Africa this year..." "And as you fly your reindeer on this night of Jesus' birth, could your magic bring to everyone goodwill and peace on earth...

There's one last thing before you go, so grateful I would be, If you'd smile at Baby Jesus in the manger by our tree..." I pulled the letter close to me, I felt it melt my heart. Those tiny hands had written what no other could impart.
"And a little child shall lead them," was whispered in my ear As I watched you sleep on Christmas Eve..."

Christmas is forever, not for just one day,
for loving, sharing, giving, are not to put away
like bells and lights and tinsel, in some box upon a shelf.

In the old days, it was not called the Holiday Season; the Christians called it 'Christmas' and went to church; the Jews called it 'Hanukkah' and went to synagogue; the atheists went to parties and drank. People passing each other on the street would say 'Merry Christmas!' or 'Happy Hanukkah!' or (to the atheists) 'Look out for the wall..!

Lord May I Be an Instrument of thy Peace...
Where there is hatred, May I Be Loving...
Where there is injury, May I bring Healing...
Where there is doubt, May I be Faithful...
And where there is darkness, May I bring Lightness...
Divine Creator, through unselfish Love,
May I choose to bring Compassion...
May I choose to bring Understanding...
May I choose to show Unconditional Love...
Above all, may I choose to see your Divinity,
within all Others and within Myself...
May I Surrender, to the ultimate power of you're Divine Love...
Knowing that this truly is the Path to Enduring Freedom...
