CELEBRATING MOTHERS DAY

"To honor Mother Earth and Father Sky in every facet of harmonious existance..."
Wishing each you a golden memory-filled "Happy Mother's Day"
Aloha and Welcome to our Mother's Day Tribute website. I dedicate this special offering to my beloved Mother and to all Mothers everywhere who gave us life and who make this life a little sweeter and kinder. I'll be sharing some special Mother's Day Stories, Poems, Prayers and Notable Quotables as well as my personal "Mother's Day Tribute" as posted below. "God Bless all Mother's everywhere... as well as the eternal Maternal Spirit within each and everyone of us..."
THE ORIGIN OF MOTHERS DAY

The second Sunday in May is traditionaly celebrated as Mother's Day not only in the United States, but also in other countries including Denmark, Finland, Italy, Turkey, Australia and Belgium. Mother's Day in fact is celebrated in more than 40 countries around the world. Wearing a white carnation is to honor a dearly departed mother, while wearing a pink carnation honors a living mother.
I hold the relationship with my Mother in the highest regard and she has always and continues to be an inspiration and a guiding light for me each day of my life. The Mothering or Maternal spirit is not just limited to the female gender alone but the Maternal qualities of nurturing, comforting and encouragement can make any individual regardless of gender, a kinder and more compassionate person.

8 ideas to help you Celebrate Mother's Day
I've posted eight ideas for celebrating the spirit of Mother's Day wherever you may be:
01-If you're able to, visit your Mom in person.
02-If you bought a card to give to Mom, enclose a personal note inside it which can simple say; "I Love you Mom..!"
03-Send a contribution in Mom's name to a cause that she supports or has supported.
04-Consider being a big brother or sister for a child who doesn't have a mother on Mother's Day.
05-Go out of your way to be a Peacemaker with everyone you meet on Mother's Day.
06-Give a Mom the gift of taking care of her kids one day or evening next week, so she can have some time to do whatever she wishes.
07-Plant some flowers or a tree where they'll bring beauty to the world and pleasure to those who see them and dedicate it to Mom.
08-Make a meal for your Mom or any Mom and clean up afterwards so Mom can just relax for her special day.
MOTHERS DAY POEM

"God made a Wonderful Mother"
God made a wonderful mother,
A mother who never grows old...
He made her smile of the sunshine,
And He moulded her heart of pure gold...
In her eyes He placed bright shining stars,
In her cheeks fair roses you see...
God made a wonderful mother,
And He gave that dear mother to me...

MOTHERS DAY SAYING
"Andrew, if I should not see you again, I wish you to remember and treasure up some things I have already said to you. In this world you will have to make your own way. To do that you must have friends. You can make friends by being honest and you can keep them by being steadfast. You must keep in mind that friends worth having will, in the long run, expect as much from you as they give to you. To forget an obligation or be ungrateful for a kindness is a base crime, not merely a fault or a sin, but an actual crime. Men guilty of it sooner or later must suffer the penalty. In personal conduct be always polite but never obsequious. None will respect you more than you respect yourself. Avoid quarrels as long as you can without yielding to imposition. But sustain your manhood always. Never bring a suit in law for assault and battery or for defamation. The law affords no remedy for such outrages that can satisfy the feelings of a true man. Never wound the feelings of others. Never brook wanton outrage upon your own feelings. If you ever have to vindicate your feelings or defend your honor, do it calmly. If angry at first, wait till your wrath cools before you proceed..."
~Last words to her fourteen-year-old Son by Elizabeth Hutchinson Jackson ~ ( Mother of Andrew Jackson )
MOTHERS DAY POEMS & STORIES

"...Since You called me to be a Mom..."
Dear Lord, it's such a hectic day,
With little time to stop and pray,
For life's been anything but calm
Since You called me to be a Mom.
Running errands, matching socks,
Building dreams with wooden blocks,
Cooking, cleaning, finding shoes,
And other stuff that children lose.
Fitting lids on bottled bugs,
Wiping tears and giving hugs,
A stack of last week's mail to read.
So where's the quiet time I need..?
Yet, when I steal a moment, Lord,
Just at the sink or ironing board,
To ask the blessings of Your grace,
I see then, in my small one's face.
That you have blessed me all the while,
And I stoop to kiss that precious smile...

MOTHERS DAY PRAYERS

"Pray for her On Mother's Day" and Everyday...
"...The Thing I Never told You..."
The things I never told you I'd like to tell you now;
Of feelings held contentedly inside my heart to swell;
Of thoughts and dreams, wants and happiness too;
A Mother's prayer to finally share with you...
Lord, govern their lives as you have mine,
Touch them with Your sweet divine,
Make them happy, guide their paths,
Tickle their funnybones, let me hear their laughs...
Dry the tears sliding down their faces,
Hold their hands when the love heart races,
Make them stand tall when the burdens are great,
Prepare them to carry the loads of fate...
Heal the hurts and sufferings of the spirit,
Make them listen until they hear it;
That sweet song of yours that will touch their soul,
And carry them forward until they are old...
Lord, let them see the meaning of life,
Protect them from the evils of strife,
Gently guide them in the path of your ways,
I pray, Lord, I pray for them everyday...
I know, Lord, that I fell short many times;
In my guidance as "Mom" there were crimes,
Times that I failed to help them see,
The beauty that you have bestowed around me...
Take their hands and lead them forward,
Give them strength to avoid the coward,
And evil ones that lurk about,
Waiting` to swallow them up and shout,
The conquest of their gentle soul,
Provide them the coin to pass the toll...
Please make things right, Lord, once again,
To help them to see the meaning of friend,
And loved ones that hold them close to the heart,
With a Mother that loves them, never apart...

MOTHERS DAY PROSE

"Keep love in your heart. A life without it is like a sunless garden when the flowers are dead. The consciousness of loving and being loved brings a warmth and a richness to life that nothing else can bring.
Who, being loved, is poor..?"
~Oscar Wilde
GLOBAL MOTHER'S DAY PRAYER

"...O Compassionate God..."
"O Compassionate God..! Thanks be to Thee for Thou hast awakened and made me conscious. Thou hast given me a seeing eye and favoured me with a hearing ear. Thou hast led me to Thy kingdom and guided me to Thy path. Thou hast shown me the right way and caused me to enter the Ark of Deliverance. O God..! Keep me steadfast and make me firm and staunch. Protect me from violent tests and preserve and shelter me in the strongly fortified fortress of Thy Covenant and Testament. Thou art the Powerful, Thou art the Seeing, Thou art the Hearing. O Thou the Compassionate God..! Bestow upon me a heart which like unto a glass, may be illumined with the light of Thy love, and confer upon me thoughts which may change this work into a rose-garden through the outpourings of heavenly grace. Thou art the Compassionate, the Merciful..." |
